DISABILITY • INCLUSION • EDUCATION • STORYTELLING

Changing perceptions.
Empowering voices.
Creating belonging.

Let's Get Down is a growing movement that helps people understand disability through real stories, education and inclusive opportunities.

In simple words: We want people with disabilities to be seen, heard, respected and included.

“We don't want to speak for people with disabilities. We want to help create a world where they are heard.”

01 / OUR STORY

It started with a daughter, a diagnosis and a search for answers.

Our founder's daughter was born with Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) and was diagnosed at birth.

At that time, our founder felt uneducated and afraid. She went online looking for information, support and real-life examples.

She found many old stereotypes and not enough honest stories showing the full life of a person with Down syndrome.

So she decided to start showing what life can really look like.

As a professional basketball player, she used her platform to bring people together and challenge assumptions. The goal was simple: lead with love, listen, learn and make inclusion visible.

That first campaign grew into the idea for Let's Get Down.

02 / FROM CAMPAIGN TO MOVEMENT

Awareness became action.

1

Listen

Listen to people with disabilities and learn from lived experience.

2

Learn

Replace fear and stereotypes with clear, respectful information.

3

Act

Create real opportunities for people to take part, lead and belong.

03 / MISSION & VISION

A world where every voice matters.

OUR MISSION

To change the way people understand disability through real stories, education, leadership and inclusion.

We want people with disabilities to speak for themselves and help shape the conversations that affect their lives.

OUR VISION

A world where people with disabilities are seen, heard, valued and empowered.

We want inclusion to be normal — in sport, school, work, media and everyday life.

04 / OUR VALUES

How we want to work.

Listen

People with disabilities should be heard first.

Respect

Every person has dignity, choice and worth.

Include

People should be able to take part and belong.

Empower

Help people find confidence and their own voice.

Work together

Families, organizations and communities can create more together.

Keep learning

We listen, learn, improve and change when needed.

05 / WHY EDUCATION MATTERS

What we do not understand, we can fear.

Education can change “I don't know” into “I want to learn.”

Families need clear and hopeful information. Children need to see disability as part of human diversity. Coaches, teachers, employers and communities need practical ways to include people.

Most importantly, people with disabilities need space to tell their own stories.

Education creates understanding.
Understanding creates inclusion.
Inclusion changes lives.

06 / THE PROBLEM

Too many people still learn about disability without hearing from disabled people.

Old stereotypes

Disability is often described through limits instead of possibility.

Not enough representation

People with disabilities are often spoken about instead of being given the microphone.

Information gaps

Families and professionals need current, accessible and human information.

Barriers

Sport, education, employment and public life are still not equally accessible.

07 / OUR IMPACT SO FAR

We have already started building change.

€10,000

raised by the campaign and donated equally to two organizations chosen by the campaign.

Inclusive games

Children with and without disabilities came together through inclusive basketball activities.

Youth team

A mixed youth basketball team was created with typically developing children and children with neurodivergence and other disabilities.

Community partners

Groups including Down Syndrome Berlin and Special Olympics Germany were brought together.

Workshops

Conversations and workshops focused on inclusion in sport.

Halftime performance

A Down syndrome-led circus performed at halftime, creating visibility in professional sport.

Public awareness

Professional basketball became a platform for challenging assumptions and starting conversations.
